My name is Emily.  That’s me in the picture – top right, laughing my head off with my girls!  I am a follower of Christ. I am a wife and mother. I am 50 years old and  ready to do my Sally O’Malley bit (thank you Molly Shannon).

I live in Denton, Texas (just north of Dallas). I am an adopted child.  I can relate to Moses a lot. I have struggled with identity, feeling unlovable, rebelliousness, and unworthiness. I made terrible choices in my younger days.

God turned all of it around. I am married and have one 21-year-old son.  I love my husband and son more than I can even put into words.  God has done an incredible work in my life and the journey has been amazing.  A journey through FREEDOM.  A journey of truth-telling and becoming more ME than I have ever been.  It spills over and I have to share.

Out of the pain and fear, great love has come.  My Heavenly Father has blessed me.  There is more story to be told.  More writing and truth-telling that has to happen.  More painting, more drawing, more singing, and more dancing to come!  I am learning that I don’t have to color within the lines; I can be who I am with no shame.
I am embarking on a journey of creativity. I’ve started a business. There is more to come!  Stay tuned…

All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.  2 Corinthians 1:3-5
